Previously, his name was Palden Tsering, and he is now called Konchok Nyima. He is from Yulshul, Kham. He and his brother do not know who their father is. He, his mother, and his brother were very poor and wandered all over begging for food and clothing. Fortunately, they came to Traling Gompa during a prayer ceremony, and received teachings from Khenpo Kunzang. Their mother told Khenpo Kunzang of their situation as she cried uncontrollably. Because of this Khenpo Kunzang enrolled them in this school. His brother, Kusum Nyima, is in second grade.
