Stupa Project
A Stupa is a physical representation of Buddha's body, speech, and mind. Buddhists believe that building a Stupa can bring peace to the area it is built, and
can also bring peace to the world. There is currently a series of 108 Stupas being built near Traling Gonpa and Sengdruk Taktse School. Every Stupa is constructed in the traditional manner
which places a great emphasis on the physical proportions of the stupa. They are also filled with precious, and sacred substances.Click here to view photos of the Stupa Project
Wall of Sutras
The Wall of Sutras project is to help support an ongoing project of carving Buddhist sutras into rocks, and stacking them into a wall. This is a custom
that started in Tibet a long time ago. Many famous Tibetan Buddhist teachers such as Patrul Rinpoche have made walls made out of Buddha's words or mantras carved on rocks. Making copies of any Buddhist text or mantra, or Buddha's speech, is said
to be a very virtuous act that creates merit and also blessings. Carving into stone has a special quality of being stable, lasting, and deep. The Sutras are all carved into the rocks by hand, then stacked one by one into the wall, which is located
right next to the 108 Stupas.Click here to view photos of the Wall of Sutras Project
Palace of Gesar
The Palace of Gesar is located next to Sengdruk Taktse School. The history of this palace is quite interesting. When Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok was at Traling Gonpa, he recognized the area of land as
being the former site where King Gesar had a palace. He advised his students that if a palace and a school were built on that location, they would be very beneficial for Tibet and the world.Click here to view photos of the Wall of Sutras Project
